Policing Support Services Ltd is a Capital Eye Security Limited company.

It has been established specifically to offer Chief Officers:

  • A means of benefiting from expertise and experience that will help improve the quality of service they deliver


  • The opportunity to use skilled, experienced former officers and support staff to release personnel from non-operational tasks and allocate them to frontline work

Our directors are:

Lord Imbert

Peter Michael Imbert was appointed Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis on 1st August 1987 and was knighted in June 1988. He retired from the Police Service in 1993 and was Commissioned as a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London on the 2nd June 1994. In December 1998 he was appointed Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant of Greater London. He was created a Life Peer, Baron Imbert of New Romney in the County of Kent in the 1999 New Years Honours.

He has travelled to various parts of the world including Canada, the United States and Australia lecturing to police and government officials on terrorist matters as well as speaking on 'Policing in a changing Culture', ' Police Leadership', 'Community Policing' at the Edith Cowan University, Perth; Australian Institute of Criminology, Australian National Police College and various State Police Services.

He visited Hungary in June 1989, the first western police chief to make such an official visit. In June 1992 he lectured on United Kingdom policing philosophy and styles at an international conference in St Petersburg.

He has also lead an International Criminal Justice Delegation to Russia (Moscow and St, Petersburg) to exchange ideas on the cultural changes necessary for 'Policing in a Democracy'.

He has been a Trustee of the Police Foundation since 1993.

He is the Chairman and founder of Capital Eye Security Ltd which he established in 1997. Capital Eye is a leading security industry consultancy which has become internationally recognised and respected for its quality of service.


David Rangecroft

David Rangecroft has run his own successful media company since leaving the post of Assistant Director of Public Affairs with the Metropolitan Police in 1997. His clients include the Cabinet Office, Home Office and the European Union. He worked with the Met. for 25 years during which time he developed a thorough understanding of policing and an awareness of the pressures facing officers.

He has worked on policing projects in Hong Kong, the Caribbean and Central America.


Simon Imbert

Simon Imbert is the Managing Director of Capital Eye Security Ltd. He has an honours degree in Business Management. He became involved in the Security Industry following the retirement of his father from the police service. He was the Sales & Marketing Director of Smokecloak Ltd until founding Capital Eye with his father.

He is a member of the Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS) Management Committee, Deputy Chairman of their Security Export Focus Group, and a member of the Association of Security Consultants. He is a principal founder member of the Guild of Security Professionals.
